Side effects:
Side effects of potassium citrate include the development of hyperkalemia with symptoms such as muscle weakness, vomiting, diarrhea and heart arrhythmias.
Precautions:
Do not use in animals with hyperkalemia, kidney failure, Addison&rsquos disease or dehydration.
Use with caution when given with ACE inhibitors such as enalapril, diuretics such as furosemide, NSAIDs such as carprophen or aspirin.
This medication should be given with food.
