Flea and ticks are often a problem that pet owners struggle with, it can be very frustrating and expensive to deal with a flea infestation.  Prevention is always the cheaper more effective route to deal with fleas. Once the flea cannot bite the dog the flea allergy dermatitis will subside.

In cats fleas are one of the causes of tapeworms. As the cat grooms itself it ingests the flea and the flea carries an immature stage of the tapeworm and the cat now has tapeworms. Using a flea and tick control product will help reduce the possibility of our cats and dogs contracting tapeworms.

One important thing to remember in the treatment of a flea infestation is not only treating the pet, but all of the pets in the home as well as the environment both inside your home and out.  Special areas of concern would be the pet's bedding or any area that is frequented by the pet.  Fleas and their larva move out of the light and embed into shaded areas.
